Publication Ethics
The publication of articles in the BERESI Journal follows publication ethics that must be observed by authors, editors, reviewers, and journal managers. Publication ethics are applied to ensure that all submitted, reviewed, and published manuscripts meet academic standards, uphold scientific integrity, and avoid unethical publication practices. The following aspects of publication ethics in the BERESI Journal are described below.
Author Ethics
Authors must ensure that the submitted manuscript is original and is the result of their own scientific work. Ideas, data, analysis, and written text must not be copied or duplicated from other works without proper citation. All sources used in the manuscript must be cited appropriately to avoid plagiarism.
Authors must ensure that the manuscript submitted to the BERESI Journal has not been previously published and is not currently under review or consideration by another journal or publication platform.
All authors listed in the manuscript must have made a significant contribution to the research and writing process. The inclusion of names without contribution is not permitted. All authors must be aware of and agree to the submission of the manuscript to the BERESI Journal.
Authors must present data honestly, accurately, and objectively. Data manipulation, fabrication, falsification, or the selective reporting of research results is strictly prohibited.
Authors must ensure that the manuscript does not contain conflicts of interest that may influence the results, interpretation, or conclusions of the study. Any potential conflict of interest must be clearly disclosed in the manuscript.
Authors are responsible for completing manuscript revisions according to the deadline given by the editor. Authors must respond to reviewers’ and editors’ comments in a professional and timely manner.
Editor Ethics
Editors are responsible for making publication decisions objectively and fairly. Manuscripts must be evaluated based on their relevance to the scope of the BERESI Journal, originality, scientific quality, clarity, and contribution to knowledge, without discrimination based on the authors’ ethnicity, religion, race, gender, institutional affiliation, citizenship, or political views.
Editors must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and author information before publication. Manuscript content must not be disclosed to parties other than those involved in the editorial and review process.
Editors are responsible for selecting reviewers who have appropriate expertise relevant to the manuscript topic. Reviewers must be chosen based on competence, objectivity, and absence of conflict of interest.
Editors must provide reviewers with sufficient time to conduct a fair and comprehensive review. Editors are also responsible for ensuring that the review process is conducted ethically, transparently, and professionally.
Editors must not use unpublished materials from submitted manuscripts for personal research or other purposes without written permission from the authors.
Reviewer Ethics
Reviewers must provide objective, constructive, and fair evaluations of manuscripts. Reviews should focus on the scientific quality, originality, methodology, clarity, and relevance of the manuscript to the scope of the BERESI Journal.
Reviewers must avoid personal criticism of authors. Comments and recommendations should be delivered professionally and supported by clear academic reasoning.
Reviewers must complete the review process within the deadline given by the editor. If reviewers are unable to complete the review on time, they should inform the editor as soon as possible.
Reviewers must maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts and author information. Manuscripts received for review must not be shared, discussed, or used for personal purposes before publication.
Reviewers must inform the editor if they identify plagiarism, duplicate publication, data irregularities, or any potential ethical problems in the manuscript.
Reviewers must decline the review assignment if they have a conflict of interest with the authors, institutions, research topic, or funding sources related to the manuscript.
Journal Manager Ethics
The journal manager is responsible for ensuring that the journal publishing process runs professionally, transparently, and according to the publication schedule of the BERESI Journal.
The journal manager must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts, author data, reviewer data, and editorial decisions before publication.
The journal manager must provide clear information to authors, editors, and reviewers regarding journal policies, submission procedures, review processes, publication fees, and other relevant matters.
The journal manager must ensure that the BERESI Journal is published regularly and on schedule according to the journal’s publication frequency.
The journal manager must support the implementation of ethical publication standards and assist the editorial team in preventing unethical practices, including plagiarism, duplicate publication, and conflicts of interest.
The journal manager must ensure that all published articles remain accessible according to the journal’s policies and that corrections, clarifications, or retractions are handled properly when necessary.
